Wings Over the Hills Organizers
Fredericksburg Rotary Clubs
There are two Rotary Clubs in Fredericksburg: the Morning Club meets on Thursdays at 6:45 a.m., at Central Texas Electric CoOp, 386 Friendship Lane; and the Noon Rotary Club meets on Mondays at 11:45 a.m. at Fredericksburg Inn and Suites, 201 South Washington.
Both clubs have joined with Friends of the Fredricksburg Nature Center to organize the Wings over the Hills Nature Festival.
Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. In more than 160 countries worldwide, approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 30,000 Rotary clubs.
The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development.
The Rotary motto is Service Above Self.

Friends of the Fredericksburg Nature Center
The Fredericksburg Nature Center, located at Lady Bird Johnson Park, southwest of Fredericksburg, TX on Hwy 16offers a unique blend of diverse habitats to visitors, one that can be found nowhere else in Texas.
Fredericksburg is located in the center of several geologic and biologic regions in the southeastern corner of the Edwards Plateau. Geographic location, considered alone, contributes to the overarching diversity found there. More particularly, the Nature Center is fortunate to be a focus of diversity because of the local hydrology and geology.
Within the Nature Center's ten acres you will find 11 distinct habitats, among them:
